Bulmer Mews

The project involved a two storey extension to an existing three storey residential building situated within the Ladbroke Conservation Area, to provide a more typical domestic layout with kitchen and dining on the ground floor and living space on the first floor.  The existing house had an irregular layout, which was not very conducive to family life.
The appearance of the extension is in keeping with the existing dwelling; stock brick façade with red brick fenestration detailing. The roof of the ground floor is glass while the first floor extension is in dark zinc, as the pitch is insufficient for slate tiles. Given the height of the nearby buildings, in particular Campden Hill Towers, which dominate the light and sunlight to the house, the extension has sort to preserve the light paths by using glass.
